Innovative Approach to Teachning Violin Based on the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. (English)
This article describes the possibilities for blended learning of the violin using the findings of Mayer's cognitive theory of multimedia learning. The theory proposes that human cognitive system consists of two separate channels (auditory and visual) for processing information. Each channel has a limited capacity, but they can work simultaneously without diminishing each other's effectiveness. Taking into consideration these characteristics of human cognition, the research was aimed at optimizing the activity of learning to play an instrument and practicing scales with the help of Computer-Assisted Musical Instrument Tutoring software, such as Match My Sound (MMS). The purpose was to check the functionality of the MMS software as a teaching aid for evaluating scale playing on the violin, providing feedback to student. Measuring the observed parameters of the performance of notes, intonation and rhythm, we found greater differences between the expected and the actual result of the evaluation of the A-major scale. Z upoštevanjem teh znaèilnosti kognitivnega sistema smo v eksperimentu eleli optimizirati dejavnosti igranja v uènem procesu in domaèe vadbe lestvic s pomoèjo programov za raèunalniško podprto pouèevanje igranja inštrumentov. Z meritvami opazovanih parametrov izvajanja not, intonacije in ritma smo zaznali veèje razlike med prièakovanim in dejanskim rezultatom ocenjevanja A-dur lestvice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
