The article discusses the history and significance of the public health events National Public Health Week (NPHW) and National Negro Health Week (NNHW) in the U.S.. National Public Health Week was founded in 1995 by President Bill Clinton. National Negro Health Week began in 1915 and was an attempt to bring attention to health challenges in the African American community. Los Angeles County Public Health Week is also noted, as is the relative invisibility of public health.
