      تقدم هذه المقالة إلى قارئ العربية لمحة موجزة عن الشعر الأمريكي المعاصر وعرضاً للسياقات المرتبطة بالتطورات المهمة في النظرية والممارسة الشعرية، وذلك بتناول المنطلقات النظرية لبعض التيارات الفاعلة التي حددت مسارات الممارسة الشعرية في أمريكا. تعرض المقالة بإيجاز نماذج تمثيلية تعكس التنوع في مجال الراهن الشعري في الولايات المتحدة، كما تمثله تجارب عدد محدود من الأصوات الشعرية المهمة التي أسهمت في تشكيل المشهد الشعري، خصوصاً في فترة نهاية القرن العشرين وبداية هذا القرن. تثير المقالة أيضاً بعض القضايا المتعلقة بالتحقيب والتصنيف والتجريب، وربط النماذج المعروضة بخلفياتها التاريخية والاجتماعية.       The article presents an introductory overview of contemporary American poetry to the Arab reader, with the intention of offering a contextualized account of new significant developments in both its theory and praxis. It explores the theoretical foundations of some of the most prominent currents that seem to be most influential in determining the evolution of the major contemporaneous American poetic trends. The article surveys representative samples of poetic work by such poets as Susan Howe, Charles Bernstein, Linda Bierds, Robert Kelley, Fanny Howe, and Joshua Clover, with the purpose of illustrating the diversity of their poetries and situating their work in its relevant socio-historical background.
