The Impact of Post and Brennan strategy in Teaching Animal Physiology in Developing Mind Habits & 21st Century Skills for Biology Students.

The present study investigates the impact of Post and Brennan strategy in Teaching Animal Physiology in developing Mind Habits and the 21st Century Skills for biology students. The study sample consisted of (56) male and female biology students, Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences Al Muthanna University, who have studied subjects in Animal Physiology in the first semester, academic year 2016-2017. The tools of the study included both the scale of Mind Habits, which was limited to measuring the habits of (Persisting , Managing Impulsivity , Striving for Accuracy and Precision , Thinking about Thinking ); and also a scale for the21st Century Skills of (Communication and interpersonal skills, Decision Making and Solve Problems, Academic Skills ) . Both scales were pre- and post- applied on the study group. The study conclude ed the following: 1.The existence of statistical significance in differences (at the level of significance ( 0.05) between the average of both pre-performance and postperformance in the experimental group in the Mind Habits scale in favour of the experimental group performance. 2.The existence of statistical significance in differences (at the level of significance ( 0.05) between the average of both pre-performance and postperformance in the experimental group in relation to the 21st Century Skills scale in favour of the experimental group performance. تهدف الدراسة الحالية الى معرفة اثر تدريس موضوعات الفسلجة الحيوانية بإستراتيجية بوست وبرينان في تنمية العادات العقلية ومهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين لدى طلبة قسم علوم الحياة ، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 56 طالبا وطالبة من طلبة قسم علوم الحياة كلية التربية للعلوم الصرفة/ جامعة المثنى درست موضوعات الفسلجة الحيوانية في الفصل الدراسي الاول للعام 2017 ، تم اعداد مقياس العادات العقلية الذي تكون من اربعة مجالات هي ) / الدراسي 2016 المثابرة ، التحكم بالتهور ، السعي من اجل الدقة ، والتفكير في التفكير (. ومقياس مهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين الذي تكون من مهارات ) التواصل والاتصال مع الآخرين ، اتخاذ القرار وحل المشكلات ، والمهارات الاكاديمية ( ، وبعد عرضهما على الخبراء لبيان صدقهما الظاهري فضلا عن تطبيقهما على عينة استطلاعية لاستخراج خصائصهما السايكومترية الاخرى ، تم تطبيقهما على عينة الدراسة قبليا وبعديا . وأظهرت النتائج تفوق طلبة المجموعة التجريبية في جميع ابعاد مقياس العادات العقلية ومقياس مهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين ولا يوجد فرق بين الطلبة تبعا لمتغير الجنس . وتوصلت الدراسة الى عددا من الاستنتاجات والتوصيات والمقترحات.
