      The article discusses a study led by Tristan Nicholson of the University of Washington indicating that a good proportion of transgender women on gender-affirming hormone therapy have some intact spermatogenesis at the time of undergoing orchiectomy. Previous research showed that up to half of these transgender individuals are interested in future fertility but the issue was largely ignored. Findings from this study suggest that these patients should be informed of this fertility potential.
