Identity, Acute Pain, Trauma: Theoretical and Clinical Landmarks. (English)

The authors, as rhumatologist, algologist, and psychologist, take a look at the traumatic potentiality of acute pain. From this angle, based on the traumatic situation, it is possible to show how acute pain can shake identity, potentially making the way to chronic pain. The authors study the relation between acute pain and identity, seen as a dynamic process characterized by reflexiveness, continuity, alterity, and paradoxality. This way of establishing relations between acute pain, identity, and chronic pain introduces new researches in the psychopathological, clinical, epistemological, and therapeutic fields. Les auteurs de cet article proposent un regard croisé de rhumatologue, d'algologue et de psychologue au sujet de la potentialité traumatique de la douleur aiguë. Cette perspective permet, en appui sur la définition de la conjoncture traumatique, de mettre en évidence les liens entre douleur aiguë et vacillement identitaire, ouvrant une voie potentielle à la douleur chronique. L'article porte sur l'articulation entre la douleur aiguë et l'identité abordée comme un processus vivant et dynamique marqué par la réflexivité, la continuité, l'altérité et la paradoxalité. Il ouvre sur une proposition de voies de recherches sur le plan psychopathologique, clinique, épistémologique, thérapeutique et sur un questionnement au sujet de notre manière d'interroger nos pratiques soignantes.
