Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Öğretim Üyelerinin Mezuniyet Öncesi Tıp Eğitimi Hakkındaki Düşünceleri. (Turkish)

Erciyes University Medical Faculty Lecturers' Opinions about Undergraduate Medical Education. (English)

Objective: The aim is to exhibit the opinions of medical members in Erciyes University Medical Faculty on undergraduate medical education and take their views on improving the program. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted between December 2013 and February 2014. Data were collected by survey method. Out of 299 faculty members 95 (32%) filled the questionnaire. Questions were about demographic data (age, sex, marital status, and department) and opinions on training. Results: 65.2% of the faculty members consider that theoretical content is enough whereas 31.5% find it too much. 59.7% find the content of practical training program enough whereas 37.0% find it poor. 57.5% of them state that the first aim of the faculty is to "train qualified general practitioner". 60.0% stated that the students graduate completely gaining the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes. The first three areas specified as well/very well about the student's competence by lecturers were "knowledge gain", "basic clinical skills" and "teamwork". The first three areas specified as bad/very bad were "integration and critical thinking", "access to literature" and "research". "Reduction of the number of students", "educational administration should take training to the first place and should emphasize on it" and "increasing and standardization of the practical lessons" were the there answers given by the faculty members on improving the quality of undergraduate medical education. Conclusion: Approximately one third of the faculty members participated in the study found that theoretical content of the undergraduate medical education is too much and practical training is low. Amaç: Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi (ERÜTF) öğretim üyelerinin fakültemizde verilen eğitim ile ilgili düşüncelerini ortaya koymak ve programın iyileştirilmesine yönelik görüşlerini almaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışma Aralık 2013-Şubat 2014 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler anket yöntemi ile toplanmıştır. 299 öğretim üyesinden 95\i (%32) anketi doldurmuştur. Anket formlarında öğretim üyesine ait tanımlayıcı bilgiler (yaş, cinsiyet, medeni durum, çalışılan anabilim dalı), ERÜTF ' de verilen eğitimle ilgili görüşleri içeren sorular yer almıştır. Bulgular: "Öğretim üyelerinin %65.2' si ERÜTF' de verilen teorik eğitimin içeriğini yeterli bulurken, %31.5'i fazla veya çok fazla bulmakta idi. Verilen pratik eğitim programının içeriğini ise %37.0'ı az/çok az bulurken %59.7'si yeterli bulmakta idi. Öğretim üyelerinin %57.5 'si ERÜTF' ün birincil amacını "nitelikli pratisyen hekim yetiştirmek" olarak belirtmişti. Öğretim üyelerinin %60.0' ı öğrencilerin gerekli bilgi, beceri ve tutumu tamamen kazanmış olarak mezun olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. Öğretim üyelerinin öğrencilerin yeterliliklerini değerlendirirken çok iyi/iyi olarak belirttikleri ilk üç alan "alana ait bilgi kazanımı", "alana ait temel klinik becerileri kazanımı" ve "ekip çalışması" olmuştur. Çok kötü/ kötü olarak belirtilen ilk alan ise "bilgilerin entegrasyonu ve eleştirel düşünme", "bilimsel literatüre ulaşma becerisi" ve "araştırma becerisi" dir. Öğretim üyelerinin ERÜTF' de mezuniyet öncesi eğitimin kalitesini arttırmak için neler yapılabilir sorusuna verdikleri yanıtların içinde ilk üçü "öğrenci sayısı azaltılmalı", "Eğitimin öncelikli olduğu vurgulanmalı, hissettirilmeli, yönetim eğitimi birinci sıraya almalı" ve "Pratikler arttırılmalı, standardize edilmeli" olmuştur. Sonuç: Araştırmaya katılan öğretim üyelerinin yaklaşık üçte biri mezuniyet öncesi tıp eğitiminin teorik eğitim içeriğini fazla, pratik eğitimi içeriğini az bulmaktadır.
