      The article discusses a study published in the journal "Pediatrics" on the effects of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) on children with high mental health and substance use disorder expenditures. The study examined six outcomes including average annual mental health spending and out-of-pocket mental health spending. It concluded that while MHPAEA did enhance financial protection on average, reduction of out-of-pocket expenses was not significantly substantial.
