INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL LABORATORY SYSTEM IN TEACHING AND LEARNING CHEMISTRY.

This paper deals with virtual chemistry laboratory for education at the faculties of chemistry and chemical technology of universities. Virtual labs are simulations of chemistry experiments. Students can make experiments interactively in computer environment. The virtual lab can used for e-learning and preparing students for chemical laboratory work in actual practice. One of the advantages of the following learning/teaching tools is that the Students acquire basic skills and knowledge for work in a laboratory without the risk of incidents in a real laboratory. Virtual labs are learning activities based on active learning method. We discuss issues and design of proposed virtual system. The Virtual Chemistry Lab presented in the article includes learning activities based on active learning method. Compared to traditional teaching methods, the applications of virtual chemistry laboratory made positive effects on students' achievements and increase students' interest in chemistry.
