Axiovert 40 microscopes now feature uncompromisingly brilliant images in routine areas where large quantities of samples with living cells must be screened quickly and cost-efficiently, as of March 19, 2004. The Axiovert 40 CFL's unique feature is PlasDIC, the first interference contrasting technique tailored to routine applications. Unlike in phase contrast, brilliant contrasting of thick cell areas can now be realized. A relief-like image impression is typical of this technique. In addition, there is no need to dispense with the inexpensive plastic dishes that are beneficial for cell growth. A further benefit is a new three-position Push& Click reflector mount for fluorescent examinations that reduces stray light elimination even more and enhances operating convenience.
