Europe-Latin America: Shared Regional and Global Challenges. (English)
Given the possible international retreat of the United States, Latin America and Europe will have to take on more responsibilities in the fight for a global governance. Issues such as climate change or drugs policies are part of a new shared agenda that should replace the outdated logic of inter-regionalism based on a form of integration that is losing ground in both Latin America and Europe. Development, populism, and insecurity dominate the internal agendas of both regions, which share similar problems and should be asking what they can do together rather than what the European Union can do for Latin America.
