THE PROGRAM OF ORAL HYGIENE AS PREVENTION OF PNEUMONIA IN MECHANICALLY VENTILATED PATIENTS. (English)

Flora of the mouth and dental plaque is complex and contains Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. These pathogens, when translocated into the respiratory system, may cause ventilator-associated pneumonia. Flora jamy ustnej oraz płytki nazębnej jest złożona, zawiera bakterie Gram-dodatnie, Gram-ujemne oraz grzyby. Patogeny te, przeniesione do układu oddechowego, mogą być przyczyną zapalenia płuc u chorych wentylowanych mechanicznie.
