      This paper aims at analyzing teachers' practices and the insertion of Environmental Education in the basic education curriculum. It is grounded on the field of Critical Environmental Education articulated with the critical perspective of curriculum and a critical practice aimed at social transformation. Field research data presented in this paper were taken from semi-structured interviews with teachers of a school participating in the education program of the Ministry of Education known as Life-Sustaining Schools -- Educative Processes in Environmental Education. The analysis has evidenced that the teachers have been affected by the education provided and become closer to the assumption of the Critical Environmental Education. This was noticed through the defense of interdisciplinarity, the articulation of contents with the students' reality, their critical position in relation to the capitalist society, and collective values that evidence political commitment, instead of individual moralizing values.       O artigo tem como objetivo analisar o quefazer dos professores e a inserção da Educação Ambiental como conteúdo curricular na educação básica. Inscreve-se no campo da Educação Ambiental Crítica articulada com a perspectiva crítica de currículo e de um quefazer crítico voltado para a transformação da sociedade. Os dados da pesquisa de campo foram extraídos de entrevistas semiestruturadas com professores de uma escola que participou do Programa de formação do MEC -- Escolas Sustentáveis e Com-Vida, Processos Formativos em Educação Ambiental. A análise evidencia que os professores foram afetados pela formação oferecida e se aproximam dos pressupostos da Educação Ambiental Crítica, percebida pela defesa da interdisciplinaridade, da articulação dos conteúdos com a realidade dos seus alunos, de posturas críticas em relação à sociedade capitalista e de valores coletivos que mostram um compromisso político, em vez de valores individuais moralizantes.
