      In this article the author comments on the issue of transparency concerning interactions of professors with the textbook industry. Topics include professors having a track record of responding to friendly actions from the textbook industry in cooperative ways, the need for professors to acknowledge that there were no free lunches, and the need for professors to call for their universities to establish a code of ethics concerning faculty interactions with publishers.
