Djeca roditelja s poremećajem uzrokovanim uporabom alkohola: prevalencija, zaštitni čimbenici i razvojni ishodi

Children of parents with alcohol use disorder: prevalence, protective factors, and developmental outcomes

Ciljevi ovog rada su sistematično prikazati (1) prevalenciju djece koja odrastaju u obiteljima u kojima je roditelj razvio poremećaj uzrokovan uporabom alkohola, (2) moguće razvojne ishode te djece te (3) čimbenike koji djecu koja odrastaju u takvom okruženju mogu zaštititi od negativnih razvojnih ishoda. Istraživanja pokazuju kako je prevalencija djece koja odrastaju s roditeljem s poremećajem uzrokovanim uporabom alkohola, visoka. Posljedice su vidljive u gotovo svim sferama života djeteta: od problema s mentalnim zdravljem i akademskim neuspjehom do upuštanja u različita rizična ponašanja te razvoja problema u ponašanju. Također je u radu prikazan pregled istraživanja koja su se bavila identifikacijom čimbenika koji mogu smanjiti razvoj negativnih ishoda kod djece, a rezultati pokazuju da ti čimbenici postoje na individualnoj razini, kao i u različitim okruženjima u kojima dijete odrasta (obitelj, škola, šire okruženje). U radu se razmatraju i izazovi u istraživanjima ovog fenomena kao i mogućnosti prevencije.
This article aims to systematically explore (1) the prevalence of children growing up in families where parents have an alcohol use disorder, (2) how the development of these children may be affected, and (3) which factors can protect children growing up in such an environment from negative developmental outcomes. Research has revealed that the prevalence of children growing up with a parent with an alcohol use disorder is high. The consequences are visible in almost all areas of a child's life: from mental health problems, academic failure, various risk behaviours, and the development of behavioural disorders. The article also reviews the research that has looked at identifying factors that can reduce the development of negative developmental outcomes in children and shows that these factors are present both at the individual level and in the environment in which the child grows up (family, school, wider community). The article also addresses the challenges of researching this phenomenon and possible preventive interventions.
