Sex Differences and Adjusted Efficacy in Nutraceutical Lipid Management

This study proposes a novel placebo-relative correction method to improve the accuracy of efficacy estimates in nutraceutical lipid-lowering therapies, particularly in observational studies lacking placebo arms. Using real-world data from a cohort of low-to-moderate risk patients, we demonstrate (1) how this conservative adjustment reduces overestimation bias and (2) uncovers meaningful sex-based differences in LDL-C response—highlighting the need for stratified analysis and more rigorous standards in nutraceutical research.
