نبذة مختصرة : Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammatory condition of the pancreas that initiates a cascade of inflammation, which can cause pancreatic damage or spread to other organs. The severity of AP ranges from mild acute pancreatitis (MAP) to severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). While standard diagnostic tools include contrast-enhanced CT scans, clinical scoring systems like APACHE II and Ranson, and laboratory tests, miRNAs have emerged as crucial regulators of gene expression involved in various physiological and pathological processes. Over the last decade, research has demonstrated that significant alterations in miRNA levels are integral to AP development. Since one miRNA can target multiple genes, they serve as key modulators of disease progression.
