Concepções e consenso dos estudantes de química : entre a epistemologia e o aprendizado

Os conhecimentos articulados mediante as atividades de formação universitária constituem uma parte do espectro de itens que necessitam ser levados em consideração quando se discute a formação do cientista. Não deve ser deixado de lado o papel que desempenham as concepções, sejam explícitas ou implícitas, acerca tanto da atividade do cientista quanto da própria apreciação da função desempenhada pelo conhecimento científico sociedade afora. A partir da ênfase dada por Thomas S. Kuhn, busca-se entender o papel da dinâmica do conhecimento não ao nível individual, mas ao nível do que ocorre em grupos, donde surge a expectativa de uma observação das variações de consenso ao longo do processo formativo. Os processos educativos que influenciam a formação dos futuros profissionais da ciência merecem um tratamento que traga os aportes e reflexões da História e Filosofia da Ciência (HFC). Em especial faz-se necessária a inclusão de uma forma de pensar a Educação em Ciências de Nível Superior (ECNS) que leve em conta as dinâmicas sociais que moldam as condutas dos futuros profissionais da ciência. Participaram da pesquisa alunos dos Cursos Superiores de Química da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre que responderam questões acerca de suas visões sobre as vascularizações a pesquisa na área de Química sociedade afora. A tese aponta na direção da existência de estruturas consensuais parciais destas concepções, sendo essas estruturas o termo intermediário entre o correlato psicológico da Ciência Normal e a criatividade inerente à atividade científica.
The knowledge conveyed through university formation activities comprises a part of the spectrum of items that should be taken into consideration when discussing the formation of scientists. The role conceptions, whether explicit and implicit, play in both the activity of scientists and the appreciation itself of the function performed by scientific knowledge throughout society should not be overlooked. From the emphasis provided by Thomas S. Kuhn, an understanding is sought of the role or the dynamics of knowledge not at the individual level, but at the level that occurs in groups, from where the expectation arises of an observation of the variations in consensus during the formation process. The education processes that influence the formation of future science professionals deserve a treatment that would bring the contributions and reflections from the History and Philosophy of Science (HPS). It is specially needed the inclusion of a way of thinking of the Higher Level Science Education (HLSE) that would take into account the social dynamics that mold the behavior of future science professionals. The research had the participation of students from the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region Higher Education Courses, who answered questions about their views on the vascularisation of research in the area of Chemistry throughout society. The thesis points in the direction of the existence of partial consensual structures of those conceptions as being the intermediate term between the psychological correlation of Normal Science and the creativity inherent to the scientific activity.
