    • نبذة مختصرة :
Aim of the study: The main objective of the study was to define a ratio to predict the onset of junctional kyphosis after a surgery of scoliosis. The secondary objectives were to analyze the sagittal spine balance of a healthy population and a population with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: This is a uni-centric retrospective descriptive study carried out at CHU Timone Marseille in the pediatric orthopedic surgery department. The data was analyzed using KEOPS spine software in order to obtain the different parameters of frontal and sagittal balance on full frontal and lateral spine radiographs on charge. Results: 100 patients were included in the healthy population, including 78 girls and 22 boys with a mean age of 15.1 years. The mean sagittal parameters are 59.4° for lordosis, 39.3° for kyphosis and 48.1° for pelvic incidence. 115 patients were included in the population with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, including 18 boys (16%) and 97 girls (84%). The mean sagittal parameters are 59.6° preoperatively for lordosis, 29.3° for kyphosis and 52° for pelvic incidence. They are respectively 60.1°; 36.6° and 51° for lordosis, kyphosis and pelvic incidence immediately postoperative. At 2 years postoperative, they are 67.7°; 47.8° and 51.6°. The ratio was defined as follows: Ratio LL-TK = (LL max*N LLmax)/(Tk max*N Tkmax). Conclusion: The analyses carried out on the healthy population and on the population with idiopathic adolescent scoliosis mainly correspond to the data in the literature. We were unable to prove statistically the validity of our ratio.
