نبذة مختصرة : Objective: to analyze the perspectives regarding the competences of nursing students to perform in management and management activities in public health services. Method: this is a quantitative, analytical, cross-sectional study with 150 undergraduate nursing students. A questionnaire was used for data collection. Statistical analysis was used and results were presented in tables. Results: it is revealed that nursing supervision capacity was present in 80% of students, however, there was a worrying drop in this ability in the 10th period, with only 26.7% of students reporting having capacity. Conclusion: it is concluded that there are difficulties in the use of management and management tools and instruments by nursing students, suggesting further discussions and practical experiences in teaching institutions in the area of administration and management in order to improve the skills of graduates in this area. Conclusão: conclui-se que existem dificuldades de utilização das ferramentas e instrumentos de gestão e gerência pelos discentes de Enfermagem, sugerindo-se maiores discussões e experiências práticas nas instituições de ensino na área de administração e gerência a fim de aprimorar as competências dos egressos neste quesito.
