نبذة مختصرة : Objective: to identify the occurrence of accidents with exposure to biological stuff, risk factors for acquiring hepatitis B, C and HIV virus among manicure/pedicure professionals, immediate measures after accidents and vaccine coverage in these professionals. Method: it is a cross-sectional study, with 84 manicures/pedicures from the municipalities of Arcos and Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais/MG/Brazil. The professionals were interviewed through a semi-structured questionnaire. The data were were categorized and analyzed in a descriptive way, as well as by means of descriptive statistics, Pearson’s chi-square test or Fisher's exact. The study was approved by the Ethics Research Committee, under the CAAE nº 0032.0.213.000-10. Results: 38,1% reported having suffered an accident during the attendance or when caring of their own nails, and immediate measure was the washing of the place with water (46,9%), chemical/mechanical hemostasis (37,5%) and the absence of measures (15,6%). Conclusion: the results highlight the biological risk of the professionals because of the activities performed thereof; failures in the measures after after accidents with sharps and in the vaccine coverage. RESUMO Objetivo: identificar a ocorrência de acidentes com exposição a material biológico, fatores de risco para adquirir hepatite B, C e HIV entre manicures/pedicures, condutas imediatas após acidentes e cobertura vacinal nesses profissionais. Método: estudo transversal, com 84 manicures/pedicures de Arcos e Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais/MG/Brasil. Os profissionais foram entrevistados através de questionário semiestruturado.
