      Esta pesquisa foi conduzida com 35 alunos do oitavo ano de uma escola p?blica. O principal objetivo foi verificar as contribui??es do Programa Etnomatem?tica para a forma??o da cidadania dos alunos com atividades relacionadas com a Educa??o Financeira. A base te?rica da etnomatem?tica buscou verificar o elo entre o conhecimento matem?tico cotidiano dos alunos com aquele institucionalizado nas escolas. A coleta, a an?lise e a interpreta??o dos dados foram realizadas com a metodologia do estudo misto. Os resultados apontaram para a necessidade de os professores desenvolverem atividades relacionadas com a Educa??o Financeira com fundamenta??o no Programa Etnomatem?tica para o desenvolvimento da cidadania dos alunos. ; This research was conducted with a group of 35 eighth graders in a public school. The main objective was to investigate the contributions of the Ethnomathematics Program for the development of student citizenship with activities related to Financial Education. The theoretical basis of ethnomathematics sought to check the link between students daily mathematical knowledge with the institutionalized school knowledge. The collection, analysis, and interpretation of data were performed by using the mixed methods study. The results of this research point to the need for teachers to develop activities related to Financial Education that are substantiated by Ethnomathematics Program for the development of students citizenship.
