EDUCAÇÃO ESTATÍSTICA: OBJETIVOS, PERSPECTIVAS E DIFICULDADES. (Portuguese)

Statistic education: objectives, perspectives and difficulties. (English)

Current analysis discusses the growth and consolidation of education statistics in basic education in Brazil, called Statistical Education as a contrast to execution barriers in schools, and debates the aims of Statistical Education. Statistical Education trains students in statistics and probability as from the first years at school for the better conditions of the citizen facing the most varied information present in society. One may observe the growth and consolidation of research in Brazil related to Statistical Education in basic education and the several factors that hinder the execution of Statistical Education in basic education. The need to develop research during initial and continuous formation of Mathematics teachers of basic education should be underscored to show the relevance of Statistical Education. It must be emphasized that Statistical Education and Mathematics Education have different objectives. In fact, didactic material which will help the teacher's practice should be undertaken and validated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Este ensaio teórico tem como objetivo fomentar discussões a respeito do crescimento e da consolidação no Brasil, da área de pesquisa educacional denominada Educação Estatística, na Educação Básica, em contraposição aos entraves a sua devida efetivação nas escolas, além de discutir acerca dos objetivos da Educação Estatística. Entende-se que a Educação Estatística visa a uma formação tanto estatística, quanto probabilística aos alunos desde os anos mais elementares. Formação essa, necessária para um melhor posicionamento do cidadão diante das mais variadas informações presentes na sociedade. Ao longo do trabalho, apresentaram-se fatos que evidenciam o crescimento e a consolidação no Brasil, de pesquisas relacionadas à Educação Estatística na Educação Básica, bem como, elencaram-se diversos fatores que dificultam a efetivação da Educação Estatística na Educação Básica com base nos argumentos dos principais pesquisadores da área. Destacou-se a necessidade de se desenvolver trabalhos na formação inicial e continuada de professores de Matemática da Educação Básica, a fim de se discutir a respeito da relevância da Educação Estatística, observando-se principalmente que a Educação Estatística e a Educação Matemática apresentam objetivos diferentes e, também a necessidade de elaboração e validação de materiais didáticos acessíveis ao professor que venham a subsidiar sua prática docente.
