      When it comes to cancer patients in the process of dying, health care involves, in addition to the control of signs and symptoms, the valuation of psychosocial and spiritual issues. In this perspective, assistance comprises the transcendental, that is, the dimension of spirituality. In this context, nursing care stands out, which acts both on subjectivity, on the physical side, and on spirituality because it is committed to the multidimensionality of the person under its care. Based on Vygotsky's HistoricalCultural Theory, using mediating tools, it became possible to construct the meaning and, consequently, the meaning of spirituality for the nursing team in the face of the oncological patient in the process of death. The objective was to build the meaning of spirituality for the nursing team in the face of the death process of cancer patients. Study based on Vygotsky's Historical-Cultural Theory, using a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach. The research took place at the institution that provides services in oncology, located in a municipality in the Zona da Mata Mineira, a reference in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, whose target audience was the nursing team that assists the oncology patient in the process of death , totaling 12 professionals. Two interviews were conducted, one structured followed by a semi-structured one. With respect to ethical precepts, as provided for in Resolution nº. 466, 12/12/2012 and also in the resolution of the Federal Nursing Council nº. 564/2017. Data analysis followed Minayo's methodological guidelines, based on Vygotsky's Historical-Cultural theoretical framework. The research resulted in three categories: meaning of death for the nursing professional who experiences care for cancer patients; meaning of the integrality of nursing care in the face of the death process of the cancer patient; spiritual care and a sense of spirituality for nursing professionals in the face of cancer patients in the process of death.
