نبذة مختصرة : This article aims to highlight the importance of learning in the construction of human knowledge, with emphasis on the discipline of Mathematics, which is fundamental to forming critical and participatory citizens in society. The study in question is part of a university extension project funded by the Programa de Apoio à Extensão Universitária da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (PAEX/UEMG), entitled "Mathematics in Cinema and Geometry through Lenses," which aims to (re)signify the learning of geometric properties through audiovisual language as a methodological proposal for teaching. The project's activities are developed through theoretical and practical workshops, in which geometric concepts and properties that can be easily observed in practice are presented. The project has been carried out with sixth and seventh-grade students from a public school in the city of Espera Feliz/MG, with the collaboration of students from the Mathematics Teaching program at UEMG/Carangola. The results obtained indicate that the use of cinema as an educational proposal for teaching geometry contributes to the meaningful learning of its properties and concepts, as well as to the formation of students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, this project proves to be a viable alternative to improving the quality of mathematics teaching, with positive and promising results. ; Este artigo tem como objetivo destacar a importância da aprendizagem na construção do conhecimento humano, com ênfase na disciplina de Matemática, que é fundamental para formar cidadãos críticos e participativos na sociedade.
