The aim of research work: To reveal hand function, skills of daily living and occupational therapy features after rotator cuff surgery. Tasks of work: 1. To analyze rotator cuff anatomy and tear causing factors, diagnostic and treatment methods that are used for rotator cuff tear. 2. To look into problems of hand function and activities of daily living caused after rotator cuff tear and interventional treatment. 3. To overview occupational therapy features in rehabilitation for hand function and activities of daily living after rotator cuff tear. Materials and methods: In this work, an extended literature review was performed, which describes the peculiarities of hand functions, and skills of daily activities and occupational therapy after rotator cuff cracks. For an extended literature review, a search of the scientific literature was performed in the database of Medline (PubMed). Used keywords and they are in Lithuanian and English languages. Results: Rotator cuff consists of four muscles, these muscles cracks most often related with aging and degenerative tendon processes, traumatic cracks most often happen for persons that anticipates in overhead activities (workers, athletes). Rotator cuff cracks (RCC) is also affected by other factors (falls, poor ergonomics while sleeping and doing daily activities, genetics, high BMI). RCC diagnostics consists of two stages, after confirming quick tests, a more detailed radiological examination is being made after. Ruptures of these tendons affect hands strength, range of motion, endurance and proprioception. Compensatory movements are seen while doing activities of daily living, and some of the activities are disrupted due to pain and/or hand function loss.
