The Limits of the Feminist Witch: confronting patriarchy in the series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” ; Os limites da bruxa feminista: o enfrentamento ao patriarcado no seriado “o mundo sombrio de sabrina”

Created in 1962, the witch Sabrina was represented in several versions in comics, animations, TV shows and films. In 2018, in the context of the emergence of the #MeToo movement, the series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, released by Netflix, brought a narrative that addressed feminist themes, although limited by the contradictions of the cultural industry. Therefore, the series became the object of study in several fields. This article deals with a bibliographic review of academic productions in the field of Communication about the series, hopefully for the systematization of the results. It was concluded that, in general terms, the research starts from the study of the negative stereotypes associated with the figure of the witch in history to discuss patriarchal oppression through the feminist perspective, placing the series in the contemporary context and identifying the historical problems present in the struggle for autonomy of the protagonist in fiction, even if it is not exempt from reproducing racist stereotypes. ; Personagem criada em 1962, a bruxa Sabrina foi representada em diversas versões em histórias em quadrinhos, animações, séries e filmes. Em 2018, no contexto de emergência do movimento #MeToo, o seriado O Mundo Sombrio de Sabrina, lançado pela Netflix, trouxe uma narrativa que abordou temáticas feministas, ainda que limitada pelas contradições próprias das indústrias culturais. Por isso, a série passou a ser objeto de estudo em diversos campos. Este artigo efetua uma revisão bibliográfica das produções acadêmicas no campo da Comunicação sobre a série, contribuindo para a sistematização dos resultados. Concluiu-se que, em termos gerais, as pesquisas partem do estudo dos estereótipos negativos associados à figura da bruxa na história para discutir a opressão patriarcal por meio da perspectiva feminista, situando a série no contexto contemporâneo e identificando as problemáticas históricas presentes na luta por autonomia da protagonista na ficção, ainda que isto não a isente de reproduzir ...
