We will analyze the different modalities of the representation of motherhood present in Ginzburg’s essays linked to the thematization of the ambivalences and contradictions that denounce the oppression of patriarchy and that crystallize in her considerations about melancholy and the feminine gender. In the essay Discorso sulle donne Ginzburg reflects on sadness, women’s feelings of ambivalence and gender difficulties and characterizes different stereotypes of mothers. Ginzburg declares that she identifies with the stereotype of kangaroo mothers and points out that the strong feelings of attachment and affection are always mix together with all kinds of worries that accompany many women (2016, p.152). ; Analizaremos las diferentes modalidades de la representación sobre la maternidad presentes en la ensayística de Ginzburg ligadas a la tematización de las ambivalencias y contradicciones que denuncian la opresión del patriarcado y que se cristalizan en sus consideraciones sobre la melancolía y el género femenino. En el ensayo Discorso sulle donne Ginzburg reflexiona sobre la tristeza, los sentimientos de ambivalencia de las mujeres y las dificultades de género y caracteriza a diferentes estereotipos de mujeres madres.
