El Museo de Informática de la UPV como puerta de entrada a las enseñanzas técnicas universitarias: compromiso con la sociedad en sus actividades didácticas

[EN] The public universities have the unwavering commitment to try to solve the most pressing problems of society to whom they owe, such as the sustainability of the planet or the defense of human rights. However, the qualifications of scientific and technical profile have experienced during the last decades a drastic reduction in the number of women among their students, which reduces the chances of success in the resolution of these serious problems. The case of computer science is not an exception, despite the fact that women have played a prominent role since its inception. To conjure up this situation, the Museum of Informatics of the Universitat Politècnica de València has designed a set of pedagogical initiatives that have as one of its objectives to put in value the role of women in the genesis and development of information technology, At the same time, other key aspects are considered, such as the strengthening of computational thinking through programming and cryptography, without forgetting the diffusion of the informatics cultural heritage.
