      Physical activity has a protective effect on the brain and its mental processes. Physical activity could improve psycho-social health. The aim of this study is to compare the effects of Hatha Yoga and Resistance Exercises on psycho-social factors in adults.Eigthy healthy adults aged between 20-40 years (mean age; 25,57±5,72 year) participated in this study. Fifty-one participants were randomly divided into three groups: Hatha Yoga Group(HYG); Resistance Exercise Group(REG); Control group(CG). HYG and REG were participated exercise training three days per week, aproximately 50min per session during 7 weeks and control group did not make exercise. Pre- and post-exercise training, all subjects were evaluated in terms of psycho-social determinants. The following measurements were used to evaluate the psycho-social determinants of the subjects: Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Beck Depression Inventory, Body Cathexis Scale, Nottingham Health Profile and Visual Analog Scale.It was found that there were significant improvements in terms of all outcome measures in HYG and REG (p?0,05). No improvements in CG were found (p>0,05). No superiority was found between Hatha Yoga and Resistance Exercise on psycho-social factors (p>0,05).The results indicate that Hatha Yoga and Resistance Exercise had the some positive effects on psycho-social factors in adults.Key Words: Hatha Yoga, Resistance Exercise, Self-Esteem, Body Image, Depression, Quality of Life, Fatigue. ; Fiziksel aktivitenin beyin ve beyinin mental süreci üzerinde koruyucu etkisi bulunmaktadır ve psiko-sosyal sağlığı geliştirebilmektedir.
