      The article features Palomar College in Vista, California, a pioneer and early adapter of technological innovations. One of the well-known technological adaptations made by the college was when it acquired the PeopleSoft enterprise-wide software in order to comply with Y2K. It is noted that the college was able to survive with all the software it purchased because of its implementation partner, the Cedar Group. It is asserted that information technology (IT) staff should be trained and be in front of the learning curve, especially when implementing new technologies.
