      The article discusses research which determined if cardiac trainees (CTs) in France learned the necessary medical knowledge and technical, communication and critical thinking skills for initiation and termination of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in the new curriculum. Findings discussed include CTs in new curriculum outperforming CTs in traditional curriculum on technical and communication skills, and no significant difference in Script Concordance Test and knowledge test results.
